This series documents the process from Sawatari’s first encounter with model Hiroko Arahari in 1968, when he was just starting his career as a photographer, via the relationship that developed between the two, and up to their marriage in 1969. It has been re-edited from photographs featured in Camera Mainichi in 1968 and Hanashi no tokushu in 1970. A result of the passionate collaboration between the fledgling photographer and the model, this series contains elements of documentary photography, while at once mixing Sawatari’s imagination with the flavor of the 1960s to create a strangely unique kind of world. Also appearing in the series are Simon Yotsuya and Taiji Arita.
