『SCHOOLGIRL COMPLEX 2006-2015 undercover#57』
"I want to change our daily surroundings into delightful world by taking photographs. This is because I have worked according to my basic philosophy." In choosing the subject of my photography, I get interested in "symbolized and impersonalized objects" such as uniform. This interest based on my personal motives including "respect for my late father" and "adolescent complex." I create the world that is likely to be, but never seen before" by bringing out or symbolizing objects that have been buried in the society. Even the world with mundane daily matters starts to change once added a little motion or seen from a different angle. I value intrinsic fun of photography as a session in the shooting location more than artificial defamiliarization created by computer graphics or synthetic techniques. Besides, I target at things unique to Japan and represent Japanese people today that may appear somewhat humorous from the viewpoints of other countries.." - Yuki Aoyama
