Giving form by photographing shadows

Takashi Suzuki has consistently used the medium of photography to examine what it means to look at photographs. In the ARCA series, Suzuki has shot the phenomenon of shadows head on. Photographed with a large format camera and printed at a large scale, the images lose their factual data, such as size and outline, appearing as a new structure that transcends the original meaning of shadows. The blurry forms also evoke the traces of our memories.
