『Untitled』

Casa de Campo is a large park that is situated in Northeast Madrid. Perhaps it might be more accurate to call it a woodland area rather than a park. Only a part of it provides a place of relief for the people, with a lake, an aerial tramway, and an observation deck. There are not many people who are familiar with every corner of the forest, becaused once one steps into its depth, there are shadier places where, for instance, prostitutes await their customers. Xoubanova chose this place as the motif for his trilogy on Madrid because he was attracted to its "mysterious atmosphere". He was born in Madrid and still produces works about his hometown, but he doesn't "take photographers to understand the city better", but rather to "allow the photograhs to convey what lies beyond the city by altering it".
